“There must be always remaining in every life, some place for the singing of angels, some place for that which in itself is breathless and beautiful.”
Howard Thurman

Well Being

[2.26.17]

How can one guard
and yet give the same?
the risk we take to give
lies the risk of losing guard

the heart is too delicate
to unlock is to release
waters to a dry land,
a spring unending.

we dig and we draw
from the well being
quenched yet too
quenching

so that the well
no more can
give

dry
but too late
to be revived?

the spring unending
can be regained again
but must be cared more
than merely to quench
