Francis Catedral is a documentary filmmaker and Master of Divinity graduate. As a Filipino American committed to understanding and challenging the injustices associated with migration, he has worked closely with migrant domestic worker-led organizations since moving to Hong Kong in 2018. His first film, Migrant Women Rise, has been highlighted by Rappler and ABS-CBN. His ongoing project has received support from Eye Catcher Global, New Naratif and BEBESEA (Better Engagement between East and Southeast Asia). He also writes about the filmmaking process and theologies of migration, lament, and the Filipino diaspora on his newsletter Impermanent Residence.
