“There must be always remaining in every life, some place for the singing of angels, some place for that which in itself is breathless and beautiful.”

I'm making a documentary

Hi, thanks for stopping by.

I’m starting a blog again. It’s kind of a throwback harkening back to my days on blogspot and tumblr. I think social media has largely replaced the need to blog. But I think there’s still space for long-form, multimedia content that’s not my Facebook wall. We’ll see.

So here’s the thing. I’ve been working on a documentary about Filipino migrant activists in Hong Kong for the past 3 years, and I want to both document and share what I have been seeing and learning in the process. In addition to the visual images and behind the scenes content , I also want to share the on-ground realities of migrants in Hong Kong and ways you can be involved in the welfare and advocacy work they are doing. I’ll share ways you can be involved in supporting migrants both in Hong Kong and more aware of the realities they face that forced them to migrate to Hong Kong to find work in the first place.

Here’s a start. Migrants in Hong Kong are facing an unprecedented crisis during the outbreak of the 5th wave of COVID-19 in Hong Kong. Many in Hong Kong are suffering, but migrants domestic workers are experiencing some of the worst of it. This is a fundraiser by a grassroots, migrant-led organization I’m working with. You can check it out to learn more about how to support migrant workers in Hong Kong during this critical time. https://gogetfunding.com/urgent-support-migrant-domestic-workers-during-this-covid-19-crisis/
